Find It on the No Worries Club: Mistakes to Avoid When Doing Rollbacks

NWCfind

Rollbacks are a staple in Clinton’s training program because they’re a great exercise to get full body control of your horse. However, if not executed properly, the benefits of doing the exercise with your horse will lose their value.

Five of the most common mistakes Clinton sees people making are:

    1. Not using enough outside leg to cue the horse through the turn.
    2. Leaning into the turn.
    3. Doing the exercise at a walk or jog.
    4. Not driving the horse out of the turn.
    5. Horse does a U-turn.

In the 2014 spring issue of the No Worries Journal, Clinton explains why each mistake is detrimental and how to avoid and correct them.
