We used to travel from Montana to Kansas once a year with our horses. We left a day early and drove straight thru. Then they had a day or 2 to relax before they went to work. They had all the hay they could eat and I put about a 1/4 bucket of water in at every stop. We don’t unload during the 16 hour drive. Too much can go wrong at the rest stops. We also had a big 4 horse stock trailer so we shut the gate and they each had 1/2 the trailer to move around in. Enjoy your trip!
