Don’t be a fairy jerker or a nagging mother. And be prepared to canter f-o-r-e-v-e-r. Get your horse used to being in the ring with others and practice riding on a VERY lose rein. In fact, get used to not steering at all. Just grab the rein and pommel in one hand and GO! Canter, canter, canter, canter.
