Prepare for drooling…
I’m auditing Magen’s Waterloo clinic this weekend, and even though I’m just watching I feel like my horsemanship has completely changed. I realised I was doing a bunch of stuff wrong, in part because I spent about 20 minutes following poor Magen around bombarding her with questions as she was packing up for the day, and she was so wonderful and gracious about it. She answered my questions so well just through hearing me describe my issues and the things I wasn’t sure about. I also realised that my expectations are NOWHERE near as high as they should be. It was also great to get more information about refining the exercises more, which wasn’t covered too terribly in-depth in the kits. She’s so funny and a shining example of the 4 pillars of DUH. You really can tell she’s spent the last 2 years on the Ranch with a total of a month at home! She & Clinton describe things the exact same way, they even have the same inflection & tonality a lot of the time. I can really ‘hear the Clinton in her’ haha. I absolutely cannot believe that this is only her second clinic! I saw some people complaining about how much spectator tickets are, (and while I do think it’s weird that auditing tickets for an Apprentice clinic are $20 more than a Walkabout tour ticket) but it is SO worth it. I wish I could have brought one of my horses, but I can pay better attention & take notes this way (I took five pages of notes in one day!).
