I wanted to share what I took away from my first tour show. I appreciate the fact that Clinton emphasizes safety when working with horses. I have a plate in my neck and safety is always my biggest concern. I enjoy walking, talking, and using my hands. This is the biggest reason I am drawn to DUH. Clinton provides us with the information needed to stay safe.
Watching Clinton and his crew in action over the weekend with the demo horses reminds me that the little things turn into big things. They treat every horse like a ticking time bomb. The way I saw a few get after Kristen, they are time bombs. The horses used for demos have likely been allowed to push people on the ground by the way they acted. Then placing them in the high stress environment made their behavior more dangerous. Clinton says to get picky about your horses and your space. The difference in behavior is evident. He also talked some about trainer lingo. I’ve learned something about seller lingo. “In your pocket and always ready for treats” in an ad selling horses tells me that horse will run right over you.
One more thing, I am blown away by how many people do not have the app or premium membership. It just seems like they are selling their selves short. I paid just as much monthly for the Cuff of the Month membership and never wear the cuffs. I use the app and information daily. Totally worth it!
Last thing, Kristen is just a little bad ass! It was awesome to watch her work and be graceful (if training horses had grace) in all her actions. Jeff Davis was great to watch also. All of the crew were super nice and the Method Ambassadors.
