Fundraiser for Heather Buck – Compliments of Clinton Anderson
Information provided by Carol Robinson
Heather was at Black Forest Riding Club for the cow night on July 16th. She was learning to track a cow that had been roped. Her horse was slow loping behind the cow and stumbled. Heather fell off, going over the horses left shoulder. The horse tried to regain her footing and when she raised her head up the tie-down prevented her from doing so and caused her to flip over onto her back and land on top of Heather. When the horse landed on Heather she covered Heather’s head and torso from my sight.
Heather suffered a serious brain injury but no broken bones. Heather was in a medically-induced coma and on a respirator for about 2 weeks. Heather has been in the Critcial Care Unit of Penrose Hospital since but I heard they will be moving her to St. Francis Medical Center soon due to this facility’s Lung Department.
When I spoke with Clinton Anderson’s wife, Amy, about this accident she suggested raising money for Heather and said Downunder Horsemanship would send me 100 tickets to Clinton Anderson’s Walkabout Tour in Denver on October 9 & 10th at the Western Event Center. The cost for the weekend event is $40.00. All of the money from the sale of these tickets are going to Heather’s parents to help with the medical bills. Clinton will also talk about the dangers of tie-downs.
There will be a Benefit Show for Heather on August 14th at Black Forest Saddle Club and I will be there part of the day with tickets to Clinton’s Walkabout tour. Also, I have a sign up sheet at Latigo on their bulletin board.
Thanks for your help. Carol, 719-495-9112, [email protected].
