That means you had chicken pox when you were young. That’s the problem with shingles, anyone who has had chicken pox, can get shingles as the virus lives in your spine for the rest of your life. Mine started on the right side and came from the back to the front under the arm. Lasted about 2 weeks then went away. They don’t know what triggers it, most of the Dr’s say stress. I don’t know. I’ve had it and it isn’t fun. Do the same thing you would do for poison Ivy.
