Here are my thoughts on Vegas, which was my first tour:
*Took my mom, who is not very horsey, and she had a BLAST. She was just in awe of the transformations she was seeing. She absolutely loved Clinton and his personality! I think she was a little sad that when she went home there would be no horsey time for her.
*It was everything I had hoped for and more! I absolutely loved that Clinton decided to keep the Appy mare on for further demos so we could see 2 different horses going through the exercises.
*I was really impressed that he was giving us tidbits that I did not pick up or are not in the Fundamentals kit. I took lots of notes on things that were new to me and that ALONE was worth the plane ticket! (not to mention all the other stuff…)
*I was disappointed I did not get to fawn over little Phoenix and have my picture taken.
*I was disappointed there was no Q&A session for NWC members. I really, really wanted to ask Clinton a question about training horses that are not fully sound and there just wasn’t an opportunity to do so. I’m going to have to figure out a way to get my question to him!
*I really, really, REALLY wish that we would have known that they would not run out of VIP wristbands. haha The party was fun (god, Clinton cracks me up…) and I even won some stuff! WOOHOO!
*I really loved SO MUCH of the new merchandise. I bought the pink shirt with the lace on the shoulders, the neon pink trucker hat, the Vegas t-shirt, a horse hair bracelet, a horse hair keychain, the green Fundamentals shirt, and the visor with the purple bling roo. I also took the survey on future shirts/stuff and am pretty excited to see some of those hit the store shelves! I ran out of money in my imaginary budget or I would have bought a ton of stuff from the Noble Outfitters booth – cuuuuuuuute stuff! I had also planned to buy Legacy boots & bell boots at the tour, but they didn’t bring any sizes except Mediums. *womp womp*
*I recognized a few people from the forums here, but it turns out I’m too shy to run up and introduce myself. I think I was really afraid that I was too new and no one would know who I was and I would feel like a stalker! hahaha Next time I will drink more to overcome this. I loved that Tracy had her NWC name on her shirt – I might do that next time!
*That said, the people we met while standing in line and while watching the demos were just so, so nice. Everyone we met was chatty and friendly. Just great people being brought together.
*Seeing Ian & Clinton ride together was just amazing. AMAZING. I don’t know much about Ian except what I have learned from Clinton, but it was just great. To see that kind of potential is so darn inspiring!
*I actually really liked seeing the Clinicians (Brittany & Kristin) working the horses. It gave Clinton a chance to talk to the audience more and it was nice to see how the 2 ladies were doing the same things, but they had different styles and different horse problems to work through. It was awesome!
*The giveaways were fun – really kept the crowd engaged. I can’t believe the weak showing though! Man, I would have lost my dang mind to try to win a saddle!! I even know what size I need now!
All in all, I was sooooo happy to be there all weekend. 10/10, would do again!
