Intermediate Clinic Added to 2017 Schedule

We listened to you! Fresh off the conclusion of this year’s successful Intermediate Clinic and taking in to consideration the calls and emails we received from you, we’re adding a 10-day Intermediate Clinic to next year’s schedule. The clinic will take place at the Downunder Horsemanship Ranch in Stephenville, Texas, November 10th-20th and will be taught by Professional and Certified Clinicians.

The focus of the clinic is on the second level of the Method, which is geared towards getting more control on the ground with your horse and developing softness and suppleness under saddle. Participants will work with their horses in arenas, on the obstacle course and on the trail.

  2. Run Up and Rub
  3. Desensitizing to Plastic Bags
  4. Slap and Tap
  5. Changing Eyes
  6. Touch and Rub
  7. Outback Exercise
  8. C-Pattern
  9. Throw to a Stop
  10. Sidepassing on the Fence
  11. Leading Behind
  12. Turn and Go
  13. Circle Driving Transitions
  14. Line Driving
  15. Circle Driving Transitions on the Long Line
  16. Bridle Bending

Riding Exercises:

  1. Vertical Flexion at the Walk
  2. Cloverleaf Exercise
  3. Yield and Bend
  4. Post N’ Circle
  5. Yield the Hindquarters on the Fence
  6. Yield the Hindquarters and Sidepass on the Fence
  7. Rollbacks on the Fence Stage One
  8. Vertical Flexion at the Trot
  9. Shoulder In/Shoulder Out
  10. Serpentine Exercise
  11. Yield the Hindquarters and Bring the Front End Through
  12. Down and Around
  13. Bending With Vertical
  14. Leads Exercise
  15. Sidepass From a Standstill on the Fence
  16. Stop on Whoa
  17. Draw to a Walk Transitions

The clinic will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and include an hour-and-a-half lunch break. Extra one-on-one help will be available daily before the clinic begins and after the clinic ends.

Method-trained horses are available to lease to horsemen wanting to work on perfecting their skills with the help of a well-trained horse that’s been there and done that. Lease horses are available for $250/day, which includes the horse’s tack and feed.
