June No Worries Club Exclusive: Troubleshooting Leads

0602_01

Everything you’ve ever wanted to know about leads is covered in this month’s No Worries Club video training session. Clinton explains why leads matter and how to tell if your horse is on the correct lead. You’ll learn exercises to encourage your horse to pick up the correct lead, and, if you compete, when to begin asking for leads while riding one-handed in a shank bit. Clinton also covers mistakes and problems you’re likely to encounter, such as what to do when a horse anticipates a lead departure, how to correct a horse that crossfires, and how to prevent a horse from trotting into a lead departure, among others. While leads can be a confusing and frustrating topic, this lesson will give you clarity and goals to work toward with your horse.
